About Us

Our Mission:

  • Proactively working with residents, businesses and elected officials to protect and improve the quality of life in Lower Providence Township.
  • Promoting special programs and projects that help the township grow in ways that strengthen the qualities and character of the township that make it a unique and great place in which to live and work.
  • Educating the public on topics such as: open space preservation, historic conservation, suburban sprawl, traffic, zoning, economic development, good government, and neighborhood preservation.
  • Striving to build a network of local community groups in the area to foster mutual support for the betterment of the township.
Our History:

Friends of Lower Providence (FLP) grew out of a group of residents concerned, in the fall of 2003, about saving the Audubon Inn from demolition. The group quickly realized that this zoning issue actually affected all the historic areas in the township and that they had many similar interests and concerns about the township. Therefore, we formed a civic organization for the betterment of our community. In January 2004, FLP was formed as a non-profit organization to improve the communication and involvement between residents, businesses and our elected officials.

Our Organization:

Friends of Lower Providence is a Pennsylvania Non-Profit Corporation and a community organization providing educational and civic services to the residents of Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Membership dues, donations, and sponsorships help FLP carry out its community mission.
